High Carbon Silicon HC Silicon
High carbon silicon is typically packaged in 50 kg to 1 ton big bags or steel drums for transportation and storage. The specific packaging method can vary depending on the manufacturer and customer requirements.
Descripción
Description
High carbon silicon (HCSi) is a type of ferroalloy that is made from silica, coke, and high-quality scrap steel or other raw materials. It has a high carbon content, typically ranging from 3% to 6%, and a silicon content of 50% or more.
HCSi is used as a reducing agent and alloying element in the production of steel and cast iron, as well as in the production of other ferroalloys such as ferrosilicon, magnesium ferrosilicon, and calcium silicide. It is also used as a deoxidizer and desulfurizing agent in steelmaking and as an inoculant in foundries.
